The very favorable geographic position makes the port of Durres the largest port in Albania and the largest in the Adriatic and Ionian seas, and a very important bridge for the international market. The Durres port is located in the south-western part of the city of Durrës in the northern part of the bay with the same name. Its operational infrastructure consists of 11 squatters with a depth of quay ranging from 7.5m to 11.5m. The main commodities that are processed at the port are general cereals, containers, ferries, minerals etc. Durres Port has currently 78% of marine trade at the national level.
